Doremi Labs Introduces the NuggetPost
HD Video Player for Post Production Applications

February 14, 2008 Burbank, CA  - Doremi Labs introduces the versatile and feature-packed NuggetPost HD video player.  NuggetPost is designed for post production applications that require a standalone video playback device with comprehensive media file format support.

As a Sony 9-pin compatible device, the NuggetPost provides variable speed and frame accurate playback of HD or SD video, including jog and shuttle capability. The included DoremiAM software manages the Ethernet transfer of popular computer video files such as DV, HDV, Avid DNxHD, QuickTime, and WMV to the Nugget’s internal hard drive.  NuggetPost can playback files with bit rates as high as 80Mbs with 4:2:2 color sampling.

Nugget Post’s compact 1RU chassis features composite, DVI, SDI and HD-SDI video. It can also be genlocked to an external reference and features time code to chase to an external device or for multi-unit synchronization. The NuggetPost accepts both tri-level and bi-level sync and supports 24 frame material for film applications.

As a stand alone device the NuggetPost does not suffer from frame accuracy and image quality issues typical of video playback on a computer. This is especially a problem with the high data rates of HD video.

NuggetPost has many post production applications. It excels as a video companion for audio post. It features visual cue for use in ADR, foley and mix stages. And can be used in video post as a VTR replacement device that provides file playback support and instant access.

As a video companion for audio post applications, it provides perfect sync with the audio workstation timeline via its Sony 9pin chase mode.  Besides frame accurate chase, the NuggetPro features variable speed playback and the ability to scrub in perfect sync within the DAW session.
