Four High Definition Record & Play
channels Las Vegas, NV - NAB2004 - April 19, 2004 - Doremi Labs will be displaying its new MCS-HD four channel HD video server at NAB. The MCS-HD Server features two record and two play independent High Def. video channels with shared storage and selectable compression rates. The MCS-HD quickly integrates into an existing facility's operations. It features a front panel that mimics familiar VTR controls and is compatible with Odetics and VDCP automation protocols as well as Sony 9pin machine control. It can record all the popular High Definition and Standard Definition video formats. Its random access and simple video clip and play list programming provides for efficient on-air operation. The MCS-HD can also be used for broadcast time delay of up to two channels. Its video compression capability lowers the cost of HD delay considerably due to the reduction in storage requirements. The MCS-HD also excels as a slow motion sports server. Its record channels can be set to continuously record the live event feed from two cameras, while the playback channels manage video clips and perform slow motion playback. In a post production environment the V1-HD becomes a multi-format recorder of compressed and uncompressed SD and HD video. Its four channel capability provides time savings by allowing playback, for color grading work for example, while recording two video feeds. The MCS HD operates on a dedicated video hardware platform and is available with dual redundant power supplies and external or internal RAID-5 storage for rock-solid reliability. It features HD and SD serial digital video in/out with embedded audio, and up to four channels of analog or AES/EBU audio. It can record 720p, 1080i, 1080p (24, 25, 30fps and sf), 525 and 625 video formats. A Gigabit Ethernet option allows for ultra-fast transfers of movie and still image formats such as QuickTime, TIFF and YUV. The new MXF file format will also be available.
