Doremi Labs introduces the XDVI
Multi-Format Converter for DVI, SDI, VGA and HD-SDI
Las Vegas, NV - NAB2004 - April 19, 2004 - Doremi Labs will be
displaying its new compact XDVI multi-format converter at NAB 2004. The
XDVI converts video between different computer scan rates, HD-SDI and
standard definition video.
The XDVI features DVI, SDI, and HD-SDI inputs and outputs. Any input
can be converted to any output format or scan rate. XDVI applications
include computer to video scan conversion, HD video up-conversion, down-conversion
and much more. The analog VGA format is also supported via the DVI-I input.
The XDVI's conversion capabilities can be used in numerous applications.
Some of which are outlined below:
- The XDVI can convert a computer's video output (DVI or VGA) to the
SDI video format so that it can be recorded for later viewing or displayed
by a video monitor. The XDVI's HD-SDI output helps to retain the high
resolution details and small fonts of a computer's display.
- The XDVI provides high quality HD up-conversion and HD cross-conversion
by converting between any SD or HD format to its HD-SDI output.
- The XDVI can be used to convert from one DVI scan rate to another
to better match the native resolution of a video display. For example,
a 1280 by 800 scan rate can be converted to 1920 by 1200 and vice versa.
- The XDVI can turn a low cost computer LCD monitor into an SDI or High
Definition video monitor. DVI (Digital RGB) is now a standard interface
on many LCD computer monitors, video projectors and HDTV televisions.
The XDVI effectively turns these displays into affordable serial digital
video monitors.
All the functions listed above can be performed by one compact XDVI box
that can fit in the palm of your hand. The XDVI setup menu is displayed
as a burn-in window through its SDI or DVI outputs. An infrared remote
control is provided to navigate through the menus.
