Doremi Labs Introduces ORCA
HD MPEG2 Capture Station
NAB 2005 - Las Vegas, NV - April 18, 2005 - Doremi Labs introduces
the ORCA Capture Station a complete HDMPEG2 record and playback solution
capable of compression rates up to 160Mbits/sec.
The ORCA CS is the first product to combine all the tools for real-time
HD MPEG2 processing in one package. Additionally, the ORCA CS is priced
below many HD encode only solutions from other manufacturers.
The ORCA CS encodes SDI or HD-SDI to HD MPEG2 at up to 160Mbits/sec direct
to the system's hard drive. The encoding process can be previewed live
or played back at a later time via composite, DVI, SDI or HD-SDI video
outputs.
The ORCA CS provides users with a wide choice of encoding parameters
such as GOP structure, 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 encoding profiles and compression
bit rate. These parameters provide precise control of the encoding process
and as a result the flexibility to encode content for a variety of applications.
Control of the encoding as well as an external VTR or DDR is provided
from within a Windows / Linux software utility.
