Doremi Labs Introduces the V1-U
Uncompressed Video Disk Recorder

Las Vegas, NV - NAB2001 April 23, 2001 - Doremi Labs introduces the V1-U uncompressed video disk recorder. The V1-U records uncompressed field accurate video, audio and time code. It can be used wherever a superior quality digital video recorder is required for video production and playback, and for high quality digital animation capture and replay. The V1-U is available with up to 224 minutes of storage in a compact chassis with VTR-like front panel controls.

The V1-U excels as a video recorder for computer and video graphics professionals. With the V1-U they can record, render, and playback video clips and stills in real time. A software utility, VConvert, is available to transfer stills or movies between a PC or MAC and the V1-U. Quicktime, RGB, TGA and many other graphics formats are supported. 100BaseT Ethernet allows the V1-U to be shared among multiple graphics workstations on a TCP/IP network. The UltraSCSI-3 connectors can also be used for even faster image transfers.

The V1-U can also be used in place of a VTR for broadcast, audio and video post production. Instant locate and instant play are time saving features that offer a distinct advantage over tape based systems. The V1-U allows for extremely accurate independent recording of each video, audio or time code track.

The V1-U features component digital video and analog video composite, YUV, RGB, and S-Video inputs and outputs. The V1-U can be controlled via RS-422, 100BaseT Ethernet or its front panel which includes a jog/shuttle wheel and an optional video monitoring LCD. The V1-U records uncompressed analog audio or embedded digital audio. Eight channels of analog or AES/EBU digital audio are available as options.
