Product Manager for broadcast and post production products

Doremi is seeking an intelligent, technical, hard working individual to join its team as a Product Manager who will work with cutting edge technology conceptualizing, designing, prototyping, building, and testing broadcast and post production products (video players, scan converters, …). Product Managers are responsible for every phase of the product development lifecycle, including requirements, managing the design and development of the solution, as well as its documentation, release, and delivery. Product Managers work not only with the development team, but also spend a great deal of time working with sales, implementation team members, and customers to ensure that all needs are being met and that Doremi is continuing to lead the industry with its solution suite.

Responsibilities of the Product Manager Include:

  • Establish and define requirements for both new and existing products, and contribute to the overall vision and direction of the Doremi product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with numerous stakeholders (most notably customers, sales, and development) in defining the product priorities within the product roadmap, which consists of a balance of developing new features, enhancing existing features, and addressing reported issues..
  • Complete and maintain comprehensive product roadmaps based upon customer input, market analysis, and competitive intelligence.
  • Provide detailed guidance to engineering and QA resources, as well as functional and technical documentation to ensure the right product gets delivered with each release.
  • Become one of the lead technical contacts for the product.
  • Provide product demonstrations and presentations to various customers and prospects.

Candidates should have:

  • A proven track record in developing and shipping professional video products (5+ years)
  • Delivering on objectives that require cross-group coordination
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • A passion for customers and driving customer feedback into a product.
  • A passion for Human Interaction Design.
  • Expertise in workflow solutions, mobility, or search technologies is a plus.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills and thorough understanding of the hardware and software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to correlate different opinions and input from a variety of sources and make informed decisions.
  • Leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong and creative problem solving skills
  • Experience in the broadcast industry is a requirement (video servers, broadcast equipments, …)
  • Knowledge in audio/video formats (sdi, hdmi, sync signals, audio formats, LTC…) is required.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

QA Software Engineer

Doremi Labs, Inc. is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to work in our company. The successful candidate will provide support for Software Quality Assurance.

Duties include:

  • Software Quality Assurance Testing
  • Implementing automated test applications in a Linux or Windows Environment for various hardware and software products
  • Developing code for software test scripts
  • Setting up test environments to perform regression testing or simulate a particular failure
  • Conducting tests and performing analysis of test results
  • Developing reports of such test to be submitted to management and R&D team

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer, Software, Electronics)
  • Knowledge of Linux and Window operating system
  • Ability to develop script and write programs for both Linux and Windows

Additional Requirements:

  • Passion for quality assurance of end-user applications

Linux Software Engineer

Doremi Labs, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to develop efficient reliable software for professional broadcast and digital cinema products. Linux expertise is a MUST. C++ expertise in real-time, multi-threaded environment is desired. Experienced with both driver- and application-level C++ is required. This is a “hands-on” position that requires demonstrable success in the design of complex applications.The candidate should have been a key designer of commercially released products.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years experience in hands-on C++ development
  • A minimum of 2+ years in Real-time C++ Linux software development
  • TCP/IP, XML, SNMP, client/server development
  • Networking expertise is a plus
  • Experience writing both drivers and multi-threaded applications in Linux
  • Broad experience in low-level PC hardware and architecture, including: cache, memory management, Pentium/AMD capabilities, motherboard architecture, PCI, IDA/ATA, SATA and RAID.

Hardware Engineer

Doremi Labs, Inc. is seeking a board level hardware engineer to develop and build schematics of new circuits, as well as maintaining existing board designs. Will be responsible for new product development from conceptual design all the way to high volume production. Needs to be proficient in high speed PCB design, signal integrity, directing PCB layout, hardware debug, design verification and testing, and documentation for production. Will be responsible for specifying parts for new designs, as well as finding replacement for obsolete parts.

Required skills:

  • BSEE or MSEE or equivalent.
  • Proficient in using PCB design tools (build parts, build schematics pages, compile them and make them ready for PCB design).

Additional desired skills:

  • FPGA design and development

You will work within a team environment, designing, building and maintaining software solutions for our digital cinema products.

  • Participate in design and analysis for development, implementation and modification of the TMS (theatre management system) software on Linux and Windows.
  • Perform Quality Assurance testing to ensure business requirements, system designs, and technical specifications are met.

Required Skills:

  • 2-5 years experience in hands-on C/C++ development.

Hardware FPGA Engineer

 

Location: Burbank, CA

Job Description: Doremi Labs, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Engineer to develop advanced digital video products for the broadcast market.

The position is to develop efficient and reliable firmware and FPGA for our proprietary professional video products. FPGA programming (VHDL or Verilog) expertise is a MUST, VHDL is preferred. Expertise in a real-time professional video design is desired. Experience with both driver and application-level C++ is a major plus; Experience with video compression standards (MPEG2, JPEG2000, H-264) is a major plus. Experience in signal processing is a plus. This is a “hands-on” position that requires demonstrable success in the design of complex hardware applications. The candidate should have been a key designer of commercially-released products.

A significant subset of the following skills is also required:

Minimum of 2+ years experience in hands-on VHDL/Verilog development.

  • Knowledge of SMPTE standards
  • Experience writing drivers for Linux (Windows a plus).
  • Familiarity with terms such as SDI, MXF, 601, SMPTE 259M, MPEG, etc.
  • Experience with video compression .\BS degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Advanced degree a plus.
