Doremi Labs Inc. is a leading developer and manufacturer of video disk recorders (VDR) and video servers for the broadcast, digital cinema and pro-AV markets. Doremi Labs' V1 family of VDRs is a market leader with several thousand installations worldwide. Doremi Labs’ product line has expanded beyond the video server market and now includes DVI converters, video test generators, HD MPEG2 encoders, decoders and video players. Doremi Labs' subsidiary, Doremi Cinema LLC, is the leading provider of digital cinema servers and mastering stations. Over 4000 Doremi Cinema servers have been installed worldwide. Company History As the speed and performance of computers and hard drives increased, Doremi engineers looked to design a new product with video recording capability. The result was the V1 video disk recorder first introduced at the NAB trade show in 1996. The V1 is basically a "tapeless" video machine player and recorder that uses digital disk recording technology. Disk based recording offers time saving instant locate and play capability, as well as high quality maintenance-free playback and recording. The success of the V1 led to Doremi's expansion worldwide. Doremi Europe opened its doors in 1996, and in a few short years established the V1 as the leading video disk recorder in Europe. Doremi Japan opened its doors in 2003 to further enhance support and promotion of Doremi products in Japan. In the USA, to accommodate its expanding operations, Doremi moved its headquarters in 2007 to a 20,000 sqaure foot facility in Burbank, California. The V1 product line continues to expand and now includes the multi-channel MCS broadcast video server for SD and HD video applications. The V1 is available with uncompressed recording or with JPEG2000, MPEG2 or DCT compression. Doremi Labs offers the widest variety of high performance video disk recorders and servers in the market. Today Doremi continues its engineering innovation and remains focused on providing the highest quality products with the latest digital video technology. In 2003 Doremi introduced the ORCA MPEG2 HD-SDI encoder and was first to market a portable HD-SDI to DVI converter. In 2005 Doremi expanded its converter products with two new models and introduced a portable HD-SDI video test generator. The Nugget HD video player was introduced in 2005. The Nugget provides high quality 4:2:2 MPEG2 HD-SDI video playback at up to 80Mbs. The Nugget was an instant success. Its high quality video playback and stand alone operation particularly suited to fixed installations at theme parks, museums, and stage events. In 2005, Doremi Labs established Doremi Cinema LLC. to market Digital Cinema servers and mastering stations. In just a few short years Doremi Cinema has become the leading provider of cinema servers with over 4000 servers installed worldwide.
